Lady MYcrobiome is a playful piece of work made from the bacteria of the artists intimate body parts. Mellissa explored mixing agars together to produce a number of growths for the exhibition at Central Saint Martins in 2015. She positioned each sculpture in the anatomical position and watched the public work out what exactly they were looking at, there were reactions of shock, amusement, disgust and fascination as viewers processed what exactly they were looking at, the invisible world of breasts and a vagina. This is an extension of Microbial Me.
