Mellissa has been awarded a residency with the University of Birmingham's Research Incubator project, where she is working closely with scientists and mathematicians from the Centre for Systems Modelling & Quantitive Biomedicine to create works to respond to groundbreaking research and advances in science technology. Mellissa is a permanent artist in residence at Palm Bay Primary school in Margate, with a group of emerging and professional female artists including Megan Metcalf, Sara Jackson, Sarah Stokes, and Nova Marshall, where they run a weekly makers clubs and support the school in enriching the arts into the curriculum.
